    North Sikkim Tour is the most beautiful excursion of Nature, especially, the exploration of the eastern mountain range of the Great Himalaya. One of the most breathtaking landscapes in India, the region of the Northern part of the Sikkim state is the marvel of Nature of the Earth. The pristine view of the white snowy mountain tops, vivacious waterfalls, bustling rivers, majestic lakes and the vivid flora and fauna have the capacity to spellbind its visitors with its spectacular Natural untouched beauty. The North Sikkim Tourism attracts tourists of various interests like Nature-loving explorers, Adventure-seeking enthusiasts, romantic honeymoon couples, religious travelers or others.

     

    Notes –

     This is only a proposed itinerary which can be altered based on the preferences of our traveller(s). The ability to visit all places mentioned will depend largely upon availability of time, interests of the travellers, road conditions and other such factors.
     There may be changes in the proposed itinerary due to natural calamities, national, government and other holidays, road blockages, and other undesirable occurrences. We reserve the right to alter the itinerary in such cases. Itinerary changes are made keeping in mind the best interests of our traveller(s).
     Any cost arising out of any such unforeseen circumstance is to be borne by the traveller(s).
     Nathula is a protected point and you must avail permit from the Sikkim Tourism Department to visit the same. There are times when you might not be allowed the permit for security and safety reasons. Additionally, Nathula is closed for tourists on Mondays and Tuesdays. While the process to avail a permit takes one to three days, there are chances of not getting it at all.
     The possibility of visiting the northern region of Sikkim is not favourable throughout the year. As such, we suggest that you seek advice from us before finalising on this itinerary.
     If the places of interest of our traveller(s) vary, we will be able to arrange for multiple tour guides and vehicles at any additional cost. However, we expect to be informed about the requirements before finalising the package.

    Day 01: Arrive & Stay at Gangtok
    Arrive at Gangtok via Bagdogra Airport (IXB) or New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP).
    Check in at your hotel after the four to five hour scenic drive and set out on an exploratory walk in Gangtok, the capital of the Eastern Indian State of Sikkim. With a backdrop of the Himalayas, the town offers breathtaking vistas, colourful lifestyles, Buddhist shrines, exquisite flora and fauna, including hundreds of varieties of butterflies.
    You can visit one of the many cosy lounges/restaurants for dinner and catch up with musical performances by local bands.

    Day 02: Day Excursion to Nathula, Tsongmo Lake & Baba Mandir
    After breakfast, set out on a day excursion to Tsongmo Lake, which is a 1 km long and 50 feet deep oval lake located at an altitude of 12,400 feet. The lake remains frozen from December to April. Two km from Tsongmo is Baba Mandir, a shrine dedicated to a sepoy of Indian army who died on duty at this place. Located at 14,140 feet above sea level and 56kms from Gangtok, Nathula Pass was the place through which the famous Silk Route used to operate until 1962. This used to be the silk trade route between India and Tibet. P.S. We will provide you with alternatives if you are unable to visit the above mentioned places, which will mostly owe to the following reason –  Bad road condition;  Disapproval of route permit  Mondays and Tuesdays when Nathula is closed for tourists Reach back to Gangtok by evening and spend time relaxing at your hotel/resort or exploring/shopping around the town.

    Day 03: Sightseeing & Stay at Gangtok
    After breakfast, choose to visit from the many places such as Enchey Monastery, Barthang waterfalls, Nam Nang view point, Ropeway, Flower Show, Directorate of Handicrafts & Handloom, Research Institute of Tibetology, and Do Drul Chorten. However, we suggest that you do not miss out on the ropeway as it offers brilliant views that demand pictures. Spend you evening walking around the spectacular M G Marg and eat dinner at a restaurant on recommendation by us.

    Day 04: Transfer to Lachen from Gangtok
    After early breakfast, start your journey to the north region of Sikkim as you drive to Lachen via Chungthang. Do not miss out on the Seven Sister Waterfalls and the Singhik Viewpoint. Snow capped peaks, the Shingbha wildlife sanctuary, Gurudongmar Lake, Chopta Valley, Thangu are the major attractions. The village, cushioned between tall rock faces standing like guards, is hidden from the outside, like a Shangri La.
    Check into your hotel on arrival. Spend the evening leisuring around the Lepcha village.

    Day 05: Excursion to Gurudongmar Lake and transfer to Lachung
    Set out early morning to visit the sacred Gurudongmar Lake which takes you 55 kilometers and a three hour’s drive. The valley at an altitude of 11,800 feet, through which Lachen Chu flows, generally remains covered with snow from December to April. Later, drive through the cold desert running close to the Tibet / China border.
    After eating lunch, commence on your journey to Lachung which is at 50 kilometers and two hours’ drive. Upon arrival, check into hotel at Lachung. You may spend your evening visiting the Lachung Monastery.

    Day 06: Sight Seeing at Yumthang | Overnight at Lachung
    Yumthang is situated at an elevation of about 11,800 feet and takes you 26 kilometers and an hour and a half to reach from Lachung. You can visit the famous hot spring which is known for its healing properties. The valley is situated near the river Lachung Chu surrounded by mountains where the tree line ends. In spring the valley erupts in riots of colors as Primulae, Rhododendrons and many other Alpine flowers are blooming. During winter Yumthang is somber with snow.
    Return to Lachung by evening and spend the evening leisuring around the monastery or Lepcha Village.

    Day 07: Sight Seeing in Lachung and Transfer to Gangtok
    Lachung, located at an enthralling height of 8,610 feet, is a quaint little hamlet at the foot of the snow capped mountains.
    Eat early breakfast and start for Yumesomdong or Katao depending upon your interests. You may also choose to drive back to Gangtok after a relaxed quiet morning at your hotel/resort.
    Yumesamdong is a large valley surrounded by mountains and Katao is a snow clad peak close to Lachung. The return journey to Gangtok takes over five hours and on a clear day, offers majestic panoramas of mount Pandim, mount Kabru, mount Simvo, mount Jopuno, mount Khanchendzonga, mount Sinolchu and others.
    Upon arrival at Gangtok, check into your hotel and take some time to relax before you go exploring and dining at the town centre.

    Day 08: Departure from Sikkim

    After breakfast and checkout, our vehicle(s) will drop you to Bagdogra Airport or New Jalpaiguri Railway Station depending upon the mode and time of your return journey.
